The person, who disassembled the pump, was actually having doubts if the tapered shape of the piston shoes had been machined on purpose - so identical and finished the pistons looked. Well, it is not. Both the retainer and the piston shoes surfaces should be plane. However I am still wondering how it managed to get to that state without breaking!
