Pressure peak damages a valve plate

This is a good example of how pressure peaks can damage pumps. In this case a series 90 Sauer Danfoss closed loop pump blew out part of the original valve plate. This is not the best way to break, by the way, because when such a failure happens the transmission looses its hydrostatic braking ability in one side of the loop. Another reason to make sure your machine's secondary braking system is operational.
