Among Japanese pumps, the Kawasaki K3V112 series are my favorite. I
am well aware about the drawbacks, but these open circuit pumps will
last and last and last and last... Two things they will need to
survive, however, - cool oil and clean oil. This poor thing saw
neither, until the D day... This proves, once again, that no samurai
(Japanese pump), no matter how skilled a warrior he might be (good
quality and design), can beat a machine gun unit in open field from a
relatively long distance (contaminated and hot hydraulic oil).
