    One thing I am used to see is catastrophic pump failures. But even I was surprised when I saw this little beauty. The owner of this pump showed up the other day, looking for a replacement. Of course, when I saw the blown up remains, I rushed to ask the man how the incident had happened.

    According to the man the "malfunction" had occurred during normal operation of his tipper truck, go figure...

    It was the first time when I saw a hydraulic pump virtually split in half due to catastrophic failure of the rotary group. The owner of the pump, unfortunately,  brought in only one half of the pump, and he'd thoroughly cleaned it. If he hadn't, the images would've been much more dramatic...
