Was searching for simple test of the condition of a used compact tractor hydraulic motor. The compressed air test is "IT". Before I plunk down $50 I'll run some solvent through it and then my breath will supply the compressed air. It'll work. I'll then have some easy information about that pump and it will cease to be a total mystery in spite of how it may be represented by the seller.

First I have to say that when I am doing some recreational hydraulic diligence on the internet and Insane Hydraulics pops up through my Google search it always puts a smile on my face as I truly enjoy reading the articles and links.

Like you said you debated on publishing The basics because of all the information that is available similar but in my opinion there is not information out there for people who want to learn that is broken down and written from the heart if you will and again in my opinion people in general who want to read and learn about hydraulics can relate much more to a website like this than they can to ones published by the big manufacture's or really any other publication for that matter so for what it is worth you make it personal and relay the information in a "real world" sort of way so that alone is one of the main reasons I think this site has so much educational value. Shoot me an email if you get a moment please.
